PROPOSAL FOR SPONSORSHIP

NDA BALL – 19 NOV 2011

 

Dear Sir/ Madam,

 

1.            During the 60 years since its inception, the National Defence Academy has steadily grown both in stature and élan. The alumni of this institution constitute the core Leadership of the Indian Armed Forces. Today the three Service Chiefs besides many other senior officers in the three services are Alumni of NDA. The intrepid cadets of yesteryears have not only proved their mettle as military leaders in combat, but also blazed a trail of glory in several other fields across the national firmament. NDA today symbolizes Excellence in every pursuit. Of what it is, and what it aspires to be, all of us, you, I and indeed all our countrymen can be proud of.

 

2.             Time and again the alumni of this institution have proven their mettle in the history of independent India. The long list of the gallantry award winners whether it is during peacetime operations or during the hostilities (Param Vir Chakra - 03, Ashok Chakra - 10, Maha Vir Chakra - 31, Kirti Chakra - 36, Vir Chakra - 152, Shaurya Chakra - 128 to name a few) amply portrays the yeoman service provided by the finest gallant men produced by this institution. It is not only the battlefield but also other fields where the likes of Rakesh Sharma (India’s only man in Space), Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore (Olympic Silver Medalist) and many others have made the country proud.

 

3.             The Officer Cadets undergo three years of rigorous training at NDA. The NDA Ball and Miss/Mr NDA Pageant is one of the major events that mark the culmination of training for the cadets of the passing out course. It is a signature event in the social calendar of Pune and numerous former Miss NDA contestants (Pooja Batra, Shweta Keshwani, Simran, Bhavna Khatri, etc) have taken their first step into the world of glamour through this stage. The winners of the last NDA Ball held on 21 May 2011 laptops, blackberries and other goodies.

 

4.            The NDA Ball, this year is going to be organized by NDA for cadets of the 121 NDA course participating. These cadets of the passing out course shall also compete for the prestigious title of Mr NDA. Other attractions will be the ‘Mr & Miss Perfect’, ‘Mr & Miss Photogenic’, 'Best Dressed Lady' and 'The Best Dancing Couple' to name a few of the several attractive spot prizes.

5.            The NDA Ball and the Pageant has earlier been sponsored by various eminent corporates and has always been a huge success. The sponsors for this event have been chosen based on their image and reputation in the public domain, the ability to inspire and lead & the products and services being provided. It is also based on the sense of pride that the primary customers of the sponsors will undoubtedly have in an Institute primarily responsible in creating leaders for the toughest of circumstances. We have also been inviting celebrities to grace the occasion. Some of them associated with us in recent past are Sunny Deol, Mandira Bedi, Smriti Irani, Manjari Phadnis, Chetan Bhagat, Sandip Soparrkar, Jesse Randhawa, Shubha Khote, Bhavana Balsawer and the likes.

 

6.         The NDA ball is scheduled to be held on 19 Nov 11. We have been conducting a spectacle event never seen before in the annals of Pune’s social life. The last NDA Ball held on 21 May 11 was a grand success and all the activities connected with the event were well conducted and appreciated by all. Therefore, may I request you to consider participating in this event scheduled on 19 Nov 11. We will look forward for a positive response from your end which would make this an ‘un-preceded event’ in the History of NDA as well as Pune’s social circuit. Title Sponsorship has to be finalized by 30 Apr 2011. There will be no part sponsor in case any firm takes on the Title sponsorship. Part Sponsorship has to be finalized by 06 May  2011.
